Development and assistance with coordination of SADC 2010, an Investment Promotion Programme aimed at promoting sustainable investment into infrastructure projects in the SADC Region against the backdrop of the CAF Africa Cup of Nations and FIFA World Cup being held in Angola and South Africa respectively.

Conceptualization, drafting and finalization of the SADC 2010 Investment Promotion Programme Strategy, Concept Note and Work Plan in consultation with the SADC Secretariat. Establish linkages with internal and external stakeholders, International Cooperating Partners, the media, and other strategic initiatives in SADC Member States. Select appropriate communication tools for the dissemination of information and messages. Coordinate and prepare a workshop for identification of content, resource mobilization and establishment of institutional arrangements. Assist with the production of a calendar of events which would work as the framework for all promotional activities at which SADC 2010 would have a presence through the participation of the relevant SADC officials.

Build capacity at the SADC Secretariat by assisting it in the overall coordination of the activities of the SADC 2010 Work Plan as per the finalized Strategy. These include advice on design, content and production of promotional materials (printed material, an online media centre, and a film clip, amongst others) to ensure accuracy, consistency, quality, relevance, timeliness and subsequent quality branding. Provide guidance on joint activities with strategic stakeholders and SADC 2010 activities and events to be held during the FIFA World Cup. Establish linkages with the regional and international media, prepare media schedules and coordinate media related events to ensure adequate media coverage is received by the SADC 2010 Programme. Ensure transparency and ownership of all the various steps of the Programme.

Through the company I edited and published the annual Official SADC Trade, Industry and Investment Review, the most comprehensive and respected guide to business in the SADC Region, produced both in print and web format (www.sadcreview.com) from 1997 to 2008. My portfolio also included branding and production of all promotional material for the SADC Free Trade Area (FTA) launch; production of conference brochures and promotional material for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Conference for African Ministers of Industry (CAMI), and SADC Summits of Heads of State/Government held in Botswana and South Africa; South Africa’s First Anniversary Commemorative Brochure; SADC corporate calendars; design of the official SADC flag; research and compiling of editorial and photos for SADC's 25th Anniversary Major Achievements and Challenges Book; SADC regional policy and strategy documents; and feature articles on SADC for the media, amongst others.
